A 10,000-square-foot Bel Air mansion and a dreamy Malibu beach house are at the top of the list of the most expensive single-family homes listed in Los Angeles County over the last week.
The Bel Air home at 130 South Mapleton Drive was built in 1963 and listed at $25 million. Listing agent Jeffrey Hyland of Hilton & Hyland bills it as a neoclassical Italian villa “on the most sought after street in Holmby Hills.” It includes a library, six bedrooms, nine baths, and a guest house on 1.27 acres.
If beach living is more your style, the four bedroom at 22160 Pacific Coast Highway in Carbon Beach, Malibu is for you, but living steps from the Pacific Ocean comes at a premium. At its $24.5 million asking price and with just over 4,000 square feet of space, this modern, wood-clad pad with sweeping views through floor-to-ceiling windows is nearly twice the price per square foot as the Holmby Hills estate.
The third-priciest home listed this week is a seven-bedroom, nine-bath manse at 1172 Napoli Drive in Pacific Palisades. It’s the largest home in terms of square footage on our list. The main house features spacious bedrooms and shared rooms, and a basement area with a screening room, gym, family room with full bar, a wine cellar, and a maid’s room. There’s also a pool and a guest house out back. Not to mention it literally borders the Riviera Country Club.
Next up is a 10,000 square-foot estate sitting on a “2-acre promontory with endless jetliner views,” in Hollywood Hills West, according to listing agent Juliette Hohnen of Douglas Elliman. The palace includes a tennis court and observatory on its hillside grounds. At the main house, there’s a three-story theatre, bar, billiards room, wine cellar, and a “Moroccan meditation room.” The listing price is $18 million.
Rounding out our top five is an 8,700 square-foot home in Beverly Hills, asking $12.5 million. The five-bedroom home is Mediterranean in and out and features the largest fireplace on our list. A private, tree-lined backyard is described as “resort-like” and includes a 40-foot long pool.
