Developer files latest plan for 300-unit residential project in Hollywood

The proposed 293-unit SunWest residential project in Hollywood reached another milestone, as the developer, Reliable Properties, filed its final environmental impact report.

The plan is for the six-story building with studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments to rise at northeast Sunset Boulevard and Western Avenue, according to Curbed. There will also be 33,000 square feet of ground floor retail. Fifteen of the apartment units will be set aside as very low income units.

The site is on 2 acres and the building height would reach 80 feet.

The project is directly across the intersection from American Commercial Equities’ 735-unit residential project that would replace a Food 4 Less supermarket on a site three times larger. That project is set to be 75 feet tall.

It’s also not far from the much-delayed Target on Sunset Boulevard, which has remains unfinished since a judge ordered it stopped in 2014, after ruling the city allowed the building to rise higher than zoning permits.
