Stun ad agency opens new HQ on Wilshire, sound stage in Culver City

Advertising agency Stun is expanding, moving into new headquarters at 6420 Wilshire Boulevard and opening a soundstage in Culver City. The Culver City location has been attracting a number of creative content and tech firms in recent months, including Apple and Amazon.

Stun’s 5,000-square-foot soundstage space is adjacent to the Sony Pictures Studio, where Stun plans to produce its own online series, according to Deadline. The firm has worked with most of the major broadcast networks, produced Super Bowl ads for Dove, and was part of the team behind Conan O’Brien’s return to late night with TBS in 2013.

Stun’s new 22,000-square-foot headquarters is less than a mile from its existing office at the Screen Actors Guild building, at 5757 Wilshire Boulevard. Downtown-based investor Jade Enterprises purchased the 207,000-square-foot tower in December for $96 million, or $464-per-square-foot, according to the Los Angeles Business Journal.

Stun’s co-founders Mark Feldstein and Brad Roth said the move was to put the firm closer to its clients in Beverly Hills.

While the Wilshire location is the larger space, the Culver City address has more cache for Stun. Apple agreed to lease all of Lincoln Property Co.’s 128,000-square-foot office building there in January.

Amazon is also in advanced negotiations to lease the entire office portion at Hackman Capital Partners’ Culver Steps at 9300 Culver Boulevard in Culver City.

And WeWork leased a 60,000-square-foot space at LBA Realty’s One Culver office building under construction at 10000 Washington Boulevard in late November, a sure bet to attract small creative companies to the neighborhood.  Red Light Management, the world’s largest independent music management company, also relocated to Culver City from West Hollywood in September. [LA Business Journal] — Dennis Lynch
