Jamison Services received approval for another project in Koreatown, this one a 16-story residential tower near the Wilshire Professional Building.
The project, which the LA City Council approved Tuesday, will include 196 units and a multi-level 317-spot parking garage. It will be roughly the same height as the iconic Art Deco Wilshire Professional Building, which Jamison also owns, according to Curbed.
Renderings show a structure with no setbacks, and with balconies in nearly every unit. The residences could be condos or rentals. Amenities will include a lounge, fitness room, dog run and rooftop deck.
Construction is expected to take about two years.
Jamison has been extremely active in Koreatown over the last few years, planning numerous residential projects around the neighborhood. The firm previously had focused on office projects, but has expanded into multifamily in recent years. It filed three of the 10 largest projects in the city in 2016 and two of them were in Koreatown. They were: a 23-story project at 2908 Wilshire Boulevard and a 641-unit project at 3440 Wilshire Boulevard.
The firm filed for a 193-unit project at 2842 West James Wood Boulevard in January. A development has long been planned at the site, but all failed to materialize. In all, Jamison has 14 projects under construction around the city. [Curbed] — Dennis Lynch
