This week in celeb real estate: John Mayer snags Adam Levine’s home, film exec lists pad for $34M…and more

Roger Birnbaum, Adam Levine and the homes

Here’s a new meaning to the game of musical chairs.

“Gravity” singer John Mayer is now moving into Adam Levine’s former home in Beverly Crest. Mayer paid $13.5 million to the Maroon 5 frontman for the 3.66-acre estate, Curbed reported. It is complete with five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a tennis court and swimming pool. Levine paid just under $5 million to acquire the home in 2012, and listed it for $17.5 million in 2016.

Roger Birnbaum, film producer and studio executive, is seeking a hefty $34 million for his Beverly Hills estate, listed off-market. The 8,055-square-foot home has four bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Birnbaum, who was behind “Bruce Almighty” and “Rush Hour 2,” paid $20 million for the home just four years ago. Amenities include a marble fireplace, swimming pool, expansive backyard, music room and library.

Snap co-founder and chief technology officer Bobby Murphy dropped $19.5 million for a California hacienda in the Pacific Palisades. The estate formerly belonged to Eddie Albert, and was most recently owned by renowned landscape designer Jay Griffith, the Los Angeles Times reported. The 1933-built home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a swimming pool, vintage pub room and two-story foyer within 4,800 square feet of living space.

Hollywood couple Jolene Blalock and Michael Rapino paid $11 million for a Malibu home, the Los Angeles Times reported. Real estate blog Yolanda’s Little Black Book speculated that the home belongs to Kurt Rappaport, the power broker behind the Westside Estate Agency who was also the listing broker on the property. Blalock appeared in “Star Trek: Enterprise,” while her husband, Rapino, is the Live Nation CEO. Originally listed at $11.95 million, the pad spans 3,300 square feet and includes three bedrooms, a detached guesthouse, courtyard and Pacific Ocean views. It last sold for $7.7 million, records show.
