The engineering firm KPFF is expanding its presence at the Bloc.
The Seattle-based firm has inked a deal to occupy another 24,000 square feet of office space at Ratkovich Co.’s long-awaited mega complex at 700 S. Flower Street in Downtown, the Los Angeles Business Journal reported.
KPFF’s civil engineering division is already occupying 24,000 square feet of office space at the 1.8-million-square-foot mixed-use development. The firm started consolidating its Westside and Pasadena offices into Downtown in 2016.
Craig Kish of Newmark Knight Frank represented KPFF.
Ratkovich’s massive undertaking has had numerous setbacks, because many of the promised retailers have backed out. One major tenant — movie theater Alamo Drafthouse — announced it would be opening this this year, despite rumors that it too would be dropping out.
Other retailers now include Macy’s, GNC, Jewelry Pavillion, USPS, T-Mobile and L.A. Fitness, according to its website. [LABJ] — Natalie Hoberman
