Co-working firm Industrious expands into Century City and Irvine

Watts Plaza

Last month, the co-working firm Industrious closed an $80 million round of funding.

Now, the company has signed two new leases in Century City and Irvine totaling 64,000 square feet, adding to its existing locations in West Hollywood and Downtown.

The larger of the two new spots is 40,000 square feet at 1925 Century Park East in Century City, in one of the two 23-story towers in Watt Companies’ Watt Plaza. The other is 24,000 square feet at the Park Place building at 3333 Michelson Drive in Irvine. Both will open this summer.

Amenities in Irvine include a “wellness/mothers rooms,” two “focus rooms,” phone rooms and a library.

Industrious raised $80 million in its most recent round of funding, bringing the total to $142 million, according to the company. Investors included Fifth Wall Ventures and Riverwood Capital.

The move comes amid a flurry of co-working activity in Los Angeles. Well Work Win, a company founded by a former WeWork exec, leased 20,000 square feet in Santa Monica earlier this week. New York-based Serendipity Labs leased 36,000 square feet at Jerry Snyder’s Hollywood 959 creative office building.

Industrious, meanwhile, appears to be targeting a broad client base, saying it’s “elevating the co-working model from a startup stronghold to an attractive solution for a range of businesses — from single entrepreneurs to Fortune 500 companies.”
