Mark Wahlberg’s former home sells for $12M; less than half original ask

Not even celebrity pedigree could help this house sell at its sticker price.

The former home of actor Mark Wahlberg sold for $12.4 million, the Los Angeles Times reported. And while that is steep, it’s miles from the original asking price of $30 million when it hit the market two years ago.

Located in Beverly Hills Post Office, the 11,500-square-foot residence has five bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a theater, billiards room, putting green, guest house and wet bar. Wahlberg included a Boston Celtics-themed basketball court, airplane hangar, two-story gym and boxing ring during his time there.

Valerie Fitzgerald, a Coldwell Banker agent who had the listing two years ago, described the home as a “real guys playpen.”

The East Coast-native sold the home in 2013 for $10.3 million, property records show.

Douglas Elliman’s Josh and Matt Altman shared the listing with David Vaystub. The Altman brothers also represented the buyer.

Wahlberg, who’s had gigs in modeling, music and producing in addition to acting, now lives in the gated Beverly Park neighborhood. [LAT] — Natalie Hoberman
