After undergoing a massive remodeling that included doubling its square footage, a Beverly Hills estate once owned by the actors Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman is on the block for $85 million.
The celebrity couple — who have since split — sold the house to lawyer Stuart Liner and his wife, Stephanie, in 2015 for $28 million, according to the Wall Street Journal, which reported on the new listing.
The Liners then undertook an extensive renovation and expansion campaign. The home is now 29,0000 square feet spread across four structures.
The Liners are no strangers to Los Angeles real estate. They have bought and sold 21 homes, according to the Journal.
Stuart Liner founded Liner LLP in 1996 and has represented a number of developers and celebrity clients in real estate-related business. DLA Piper purchased the firm last year. He’s now a managing partner there.
Stephanie Liner is a designer and led the expansion of the Beverly Hills property, adding a hair salon and private elevator among other amenities, according to the report. The compound features a seven-bedroom main house, guests houses, and an eight-car garage.
One building is a standalone entertainment center that DeVito built with a screening room, wine room, lounge, and cigar room. A mechanized wall can separate the screening room from the rest of the space.
The Liners split about a half-acre from the 1.77-acre property and are developing a separate home there. [WSJ] — Dennis Lynch
