Sam Real and Darin Beebower
There was movement across all sectors of the L.A. real estate world this month. Here are a few moves that stood out.
Darin Beebower has left his longtime gig at Madison Partners for an executive title at Stepp Commercial, a multifamily brokerage firm. In his new role as executive vice president, Beebower will be responsible for growing the company’s market share in neighborhoods that include Hollywood, Koreatown and the San Fernando Valley. He previously served as senior executive director at Madison, where he had been since 2001. In his 25 years in the industry, Beebower has closed more than $2 billion in multifamily sales transactions, totaling more than 7,500 units, according to a company statement.
On the residential front, Engel & Voelkers recruited Sam Real, a residential real estate agent, to join their Beverly Hills office. Real will be leaving Nest Seekers, his brokerage of five years. He is a former agent for Douglas Elliman and Keller Williams. In his new capacity, Real will be joining E&V’s international luxury brand, the company said. Among some of Real’s pricier listings are a $35 million spec home with a live shark tank, and a 9,800-square-foot estate on Marcheeta Place in the Hollywood Hills.
Meanwhile, an affiliate of Coldwell Banker has named a new managing director. Coldwell Banker Commercial WESTMAC promoted Christian Holland in the firm’s Sawtelle office. Holland has been at the firm for the past two decades, and most recently held an executive vice president title. The company specializes in office, industrial, retail and multifamily properties.
Architect Hunvey Chen also receiving a recent promotion. Named regional leader of healthcare for HOK’s Los Angeles practice, Chen will now manage the architecture firm’s projects in the health world. In her 12 years at the company, Chen has worked on major projects including Cedars-Sinai Medical Center’s Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion, Scripps Prebys Cardiovascular Institute and the Ventura County Medical Center Hospital Replacement Wing.
