This week in celeb real estate: A gubernatorial candidate and musician buy in WeHo, Chris Paul scores sale..and more

Chris Paul and the mansion, Wallace Cunningham and the Razor House

West Hollywood was all the rage this week with not one, but two celebrities snagging up homes in the neighborhood for $6.5 million each. Another eight-figure listing also came on the market recently for those wanting to venture down the coast to San Diego.

In La Jolla, a mansion designed by architect Wallace Cunningham hit the market for $30 million. Dubbed the Razor House, the 10,650-square-foot residence has a main house with four bedrooms and a separate guest house with another two bedrooms. Amenities include a rooftop terrace with a swimming pool, billiards room, library and five-car underground garage. Cunningham, a San Diego local, studied at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West. Laleh and Niloofar Monshizadeh of Coldwell Banker have the listing.

Chris Paul, a former Los Angeles Laker, might finally bid adieu to the city. The NBA All-Star sold his pad in Calabasas for $11 million, scoring the highest price paid for a home in the neighborhood this year. Spanning about 10,400 square feet, the two-story estate includes six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Amenities include a movie theater, pizza oven, wine cellar, and of course, a full-size outdoor basketball court. Paul bought the residence for $8.9 million three years ago, before he was traded to the Houston Rockets. Tomer Fridman and Isadora Friedman of Compass had the listing. Emil Hartoonian of the Agency represented the buyer.

In West Hollywood, a former Hewlett-Packard executive paid $6.5 million for a condominium in the celeb-packed Sierra Towers. Meg Whitman, who once ran to be a California governor, bought the unit from Elliot Grainge, owner of the independent record label TenThousand Projects and son of Universal Music Group Chairman Sir Lucian Grainge, the Los Angeles Times reported. It includes two bedrooms and one full bathroom within 2,300 square feet of space. Drew Fenton of Hilton & Hyland and David Findley of the Agency had the listing. Matthew and Josh Altman of Douglas Elliman, known as The Altman Brothers, represented Whitman.

Adam Lambert, punk-rocker and star of “American Idol” season eight, also paid $6.5 million for a home in West Hollywood recently. The musician picked up a Contemporary-style home on the Sunset Strip, which includes five bedrooms and six bathrooms. A corporate entity tied to Phillip Sarofim, Avril Lavigne’s boyfriend, took a loss on the property. He paid $6.8 million for the new, 5,000-square-foot house in February 2017, Variety reported. Most recently, Lambert collaborated with the legendary band Queen.
