altered the project’s plans earlier this year in order to preserve the landmarked Hollywood Reporter Building at 6715 Sunset Blvd. The developer had previously planned to demolish the 1930s building.
Attempts to protect other structures were not successful after a city council committee voted against landmarking four properties. The effort was criticized for attempting to slow development by exploiting relatively loose rules for protecting sites, The Real Deal reported.
The Planning Commission will consider Harridge’s project during its meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 13, at Los Angeles City Hall. If approved, the project would then be considered by the city council’s planning and land use management committee.
