Lockton Cos. inks lease for new office at 777 Tower

Lockton CEO Tim Noonan with 777 Tower (Brookfield)

Insurance brokerage giant Lockton Companies is moving from one Downtown Los Angeles office tower to another.

The firm, among the largest privately-held insurance brokerage companies, is leaving its office of two decades for a new, 70,000-square-foot space at the 777 Tower, the company announced Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lockton will relocate from Ernst and Young Plaza, located at 725 South Figueroa Street, in February 2019.

Brookfield Office Properties owns both the Ernst and Young Plaza and 777 Tower, located at 777 South Figueroa Street.

Designed by Gensler, the new digs will have more flexibility and open space. There will also be phone rooms and “informal touchdown” spaces meant to encourage “quiet reflection,” according to a statement announcing the new lease.

Christina Noonan, Tony Morales and Maureen Hawley of JLL represented Lockton. Brookfield was represented in-house by John Barganski, Marin Turney, Rachael Zanetos and Ian Gilbert.

Convene, a co-working firm, is also located at 777 Tower. The firm, which struck a partnership with Brookfield last year, holds more than 12,000 square feet in the building, spread out over six meeting rooms.

Lockton’s Pacific operation includes other offices in the state, including San Diego, Orange County, San Fernando Valley, San Francisco and Sacramento. It has locations in Seattle and Portland, Oregon as well. Based in Kansas City, the firm provides insurance, risk management and employee benefit solutions.
