Here’s the story….
HGTV has started renovations at the iconic Studio City house that served as the exterior for the “Brady Bunch,” a few months after acquiring it for $3.5 million.
The network hosted six of the original cast members — plus some HGTV hosts — at the remodeling kickoff event, Curbed reported.
The network will nearly double the home’s floor size by adding 2,000 square feet of living space to its existin 2,500 square feet of space.
The interiors will be restored to 1970s charm, similar to what viewers saw on the show, which aired from 1969 to 1974 but gained a far wider audience in reruns and syndication.
Missing from the party was Lance Bass, the NSYNC star who was outbid by HGTV. The singer took to Twitter after learning he lost the home to a higher bidder, claiming he was “heartbroken” that the Brady house was going to a corporate buyer. [Curbed] — Natalie Hoberman
