Add another adaptive reuse to Jamison’s growing portfolio.
The firm has secured permits to convert a 13-story office building near MacArthur Park into a multifamily complex, Urbanize reported.
Located at 2500 Wilshire Boulevard, the 230,000-square-foot property will feature 248 residential units and retail on the ground floor once the transformation is complete. Corbel Architects is designing the project, which has construction permits valued at $17.6 million so far, according to a document published by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
Jamison first filed plans to convert the building, built in 1969, in February 2015. Filings from that time indicate the developer would be seeking exemptions from density limits and yard requirements.
The family-run firm has been increasingly converting much of its expansive office portfolio to multifamily product. Jamison had 14 such projects under construction as of February.
