If the first week was any indication, 2019 could be a big year in celebrity real estate, filled with mega-mansion sales, eye-popping listings and celebrity home-swaps.

Adam Levine and his supermodel wife Behati Prinsloo started off the year by plunking down $32 million for Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck’s mansion in Pacific Palisades. The former couple has been quietly shopping the 16,000-square-foot residence after divorcing late last year, TMZ reported. They paid $17.6 million for the 3-acre property in 2009. The massive spread includes a swimming pool, basketball court, gym and an art studio. There are five bedrooms and eight bathrooms in the main house.

In Bel Air, actress Salma Hayek is making plans to nearly double the size of her current home. The Mexican actress filed plans to build a new 17,490-square-foot mansion that would replace her existing 7,960-square-foot home on the lot. She bought the property in June 2007 from actor Kelsey Grammer for $13.5 million, property records show. It spans nine bedrooms and 10 baths. The proposed residence would have two stories, featuring 10,946 square feet above grade and roughly 6,500 square feet below grade.

Nearby, a home once owned by Johnny Carson’s ex-wife Joanne Carson hit the market as a teardown seeking $3.8 million. Built in 1951, the property spans 4,000 square feet. Marketing materials for the property suggest a 12,000-square-foot residence with seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms could be built on the lot. Plans have yet to be approved, however. The property last traded in 2016 for $2.8 million, records show. Carson bought the home in 1972 after divorcing the late-night talk show host.

Glen Ballard, a songwriter and producer, listed his pad in Malibu for $7.9 million. The 1,100-square-foot residence sits just a few steps away from the ocean, and features two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There’s also a two-car garage at the property, the Los Angeles Times reported. Ballard is best known for co-writing and producing Alanis Morissette’s “Jagged Little Pill,” which won two Grammy Awards. He also holds songwriting and production credits on major hits, like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and Aerosmith’s “Nine Lives.”
