A local developer has his sights set on a project that would rise on a prime piece of real estate in Downtown.
An entity connected to Elliot Tishbi has filed plans for a hotel-apartment complex at 1323-1331 S. Flower Street, about one block from the Los Angeles Convention Center, according to Urbanize.
The development would include 132 hotel rooms and 48 apartments in the South Park area. The 11-story building would encompass 118,000 square feet, and include a restaurant.
Tishbees LLC is listed as the owner. It shares an address with a A Plus Fabrics in Boyle Heights. Tishbi is listed as head of both companies, Urbanize reported.
If approved, the project would replace two industrial buildings.
The plan follows major projects under review in the area. Anschutz Entertainment Group, which owns L.A. Live, is planning the $500-million convention center transformation and an 850-room expansion of the nearby J.W. Marriott.
Other hotel projects are also set to rise nearby, including the Morrison Hotel by Relevant Group, and the Fig + Pico hotel by Lightstone Group, which calls for 1,150 rooms. [Urbanize] — Gregory Cornfield
