The country’s biggest homebuilder can move ahead with its plan to build two new townhouse and condo developments totaling 238 units in the Platinum Triangle.
Lennar Corporation got the approval from the Anaheim Planning Commission for the mixed-use project along Gene Autry Way near Angel Stadium, according Urbanize.
One development will span 5.4 acres on a vacant site at the corner of Union Street. It calls for 11 three-story buildings with 154 condominiums that will each be between 1,140 and 1,650 square feet, according to the report. The other site is 4.5 acres at the corner of Westside Drive, and calls for 28 triplex townhomes with a total of 84 units,. Each unit will be 1,975 to 2,300 square feet.
The developments are being designed by Robert Hidey Architects.
They would add to the existing footprint Lennar has in Anaheim, which has become more attractive to builders. Fifteen years ago, the city established new land use designations for the Platinum Triangle as a mixed-use urban district around Angel Stadium. It was changed from largely industrial space to mixed-use, residential, office and commercial uses.
Last year, Lennar completed its 400-unit Core project. And earlier this year, it proposed 108 townhomes and 54 duplex units at 1100 N. Anaheim Boulevard.
