Kevin Durant is officially a free agent. At least in terms of his Southern California real estate.
The Golden State Warriors star — whose actual contract expires Sunday — sold his home in Malibu for $12.2 million, the Los Angeles Times reported. He listed it for $13.5 million two months ago.
Durant, who is recovering from an injury he sustained in the NBA finals, is expected to opt out of his current contract. He bought the Malibu home last year for $12 million, after having signed with the Warriors in 2016.
The oceanfront home spans 5,100 square feet of space. It includes four bedrooms, six bathrooms, as well as a home theater and media room. Amenities include an elevator and wine wall.
James Harris, David Parnes and Sandro Dazzan of the Agency had the listing. The Agency’s Cooper Mount represented the buyer, who remains unknown.
Malibu has attracted a number of superstar athletes in the past. Shaun White, a three-time Olympic gold medalist, recently listed two properties in the exclusive Point Dume neighborhood for a combined $27 million. [LAT] — Natalie Hoberman
