Many high-end homes are languishing on the market in Bel Air, Hollywood Hills and Beverly Hills, but in Brentwood, sales are still hot.
Just days after Lindsey Buckingham — he of Fleetwood Mac fame — sold his $30 million home in one month, a newly-built mansion in the same neighborhood has sold two weeks after receiving its certificate of occupancy. And it’s across from a home belonging to basketball superstar and current Laker LeBron James.
Cutting Edge, a development company co-founded by Agency partner Santiago Arana, sold its latest project on Tigertail Road for $22.7 million, The Real Deal has learned. The property was certified as ready for move-in on June 11, and sold June 24.
Spanning 13,500 square feet, the mansion includes eight bedrooms and 12 bathrooms. There’s also a swimming pool, walk-in refrigerator, gym, sauna and movie theater.
The buyer is Lajaan Group LLC, which is controlled by Century City-based attorney Evan N. Spiegel. Arana, who brokered both sides of the deal, declined to disclose the identity of the buyer.
Cutting Edge was founded by Arana and David Herskowitz. The firm also built the house across the street, which sold to James for $23 million two years ago. That home — James’ second in the neighborhood — spans roughly 15,850 square feet.
Despite the greater market slowdown, demand for luxury homes in Brentwood has remained relatively strong. In May, Hollywood producer Anton Lessine sold his Mediterranean-style home in the gated Brentwood Park for $17 million. Lessine, whose credits include “Fury” and “Dirty Grandpa” had paid $9 million for the property in 2012.
