Developer Geoff Palmer is proposing a 280-unit apartment tower in South Los Angeles.

Palmer’s firm, G.H. Palmer Associates — known for its Italianate-style complexes — wants to build the 15-story complex at 2321-2327 South Flower Street, property records show. It would include underground parking and ground-floor commercial space.

A firm connected to G.H. Palmer acquired the site in 2006, records show. A representative for the company confirmed it was working on the project.

The 20,000-square-foot-lot, located across the street from another Palmer property, the Lorenzo apartment complex, now has a single-story office building and a parking lot.

The current plans for the site have been scaled back considerably from the original. The developer had first proposed constructing a 50-story tower on the lot in 2006, but did not proceed.

Palmer is one of the biggest multifamily developers in Los Angeles and has also been one of President Trump’s biggest backers. In September, he hosted a fundraiser for the president’s reelection campaign in his Beverly Hills home.

Early last year, a class action lawsuit accused G.H. Palmer Associates of withholding millions of dollars in security deposits from thousands of apartment tenants across Los Angeles.
