Luxury broker Marc Noah has jumped to Hilton & Hyland from Sotheby’s International Realty and in keeping with the statewide stay-at-home order, has been conducting a few virtual tours while quarantined with his family. He’s also been updating his website.
Noah, one of the top luxury brokers in Los Angeles, spent seven years at Sotheby’s before joining Beverly Hills-based Hilton & Hyland two weeks ago.
At his new brokerage, Noah said he is “surrounded by more higher-end agents.” He added, “I can have access to more properties because so much transacts off the market.”
Agent Kyle Dordick, who spent three years at Sotheby’s, also joined Hilton & Hyland.
Noah had $116 million in sales volume last year, according to Hilton & Hyland, and has brokered high-profile deals like former L.A. Dodger Jimmy Rollins’ sale of his Encino home for $10.5 million in December.
Noah made the jump the week that Gov. Gavin Newsom instructed Californians to remain in their homes except for essential activities. Since then Noah has only led virtual showings for off-market listings, though he called the transition to his new job “seamless.”
“I actually feel it was an opportune time [to move brokerages],” he added. “I’m rebranding my website, and aligning myself with a new brand.”
Noah did acknowledge that, like other L.A. agents, the coronavirus pandemic has been a major disruption. “I have no active listings currently,” he said. “I have a few listings that are coming up in June, probably.” He noted he had a “couple of sales in escrow.”
Noah called Seattle “a good barometer of a market that got hit hard by Covid-19,” and is now beginning to recover with agents starting to put homes back on the market.
Hilton & Hyland often handles the uppermost luxury sales with co-founder Jeff Hyland along with star brokers Branden and Rayni Williams usually grabbing the listings. Hyland is one of the listing agents for the 60-room Casa Encantada estate in Bel Air asking what would be a record-shattering $225 million.
Messages left with Sotheby’s were not immediately returned.
