This 74-acre Silicon Valley estate is asking $135M

A 74-acre, 32-bedroom estate in Silicon Valley known as Green Gables now has a price tag to match its size: $135 million.

The Fleishhacker family first put the massive property on the market in 2018 but didn’t publicly disclose an asking price. That has changed, as Dirt.com first reported.

The Green Gables estate at 329 Albion Avenue in Woodside was conceived by businessman Mortimer Fleischhacker Sr. He bought the first parcel that makes up the property in 1907 and commissioned architects Charles and Henry Greene to build a 10,000-square-foot mansion modeled after English manors.

The family built out the San Mateo County property over the following decades. There are six other residences, including a 1930s-era home and two homes built in the 1860s. The most recent home was built in the 1970s and includes its own pool and in-law suite. Altogether, the estate has 32 bedrooms and 26 bathrooms across 24,000 square feet of homes.

The rest of the grounds include formal gardens and woodlands. Just outside the main home is a 60-foot-by-300-foot Roman-style reflecting pool surrounded by stonework.

The estate has hosted scores of the world’s elite over the years, including ambassadors, world leaders, and even the Crown Prince of Sweden. The United Nation’s 20th anniversary event was held there in 1965.

In February, former JetBlue Chairman Joel Peterson listed his 11-acre Woodside estate $49 million.
