Bidding war for Diplo’s Hollywood Hills home

Diplo’s Hollywood Hills home wasn’t even on the market a week before the producer and deejay accepted an offer above his asking price.

Diplo — whose real name is Thomas Pentz — sold the 2,500-square-foot home for a bit over $2.8 million, a full $110,000 above his asking price, according to the Los Angeles Times.

He sold the nicely situated house at a profit just five days after putting it on the market. Pentz paid $2.4 million for the property in 2016.

The deejay has moved to pricier digs, paying musician Kid Rock $13.15 million in October for his Balinese-inspired mansion in Malibu. That home is more than three times the size of his Hollywood Hills abode.

Pentz isn’t the only celebrity to pick up and move to Malibu. The seaside enclave along the Pacific Coast Highway has been the hottest post-coronavirus market in the L.A. area.

The home Pentz is leaving behind at 2675 Rutherford Drive spans several stories on a hillside and has balconies, patios and floor-to-ceiling windows to maximize its views over L.A. The lower level has a meditation space, yoga area and recording studio.

It has four bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, according to a Sotheby’s International Realty listing by Eric Lavey, who represented Pentz in the deal. Katie Crain of Compass represented the buyer.
