Compass has gone outside of its ranks to find its new president for California, Nevada and Hawaii.
The brokerage named Wendy Forsythe, most recently the chief strategy officer at North Carolina-based Fathom Holdings, as its new regional head of operations in a statement on Tuesday, though Forsythe’s LinkedIn page says she started the position in October.
Forsythe is based out of Orange County and has been a California resident for a decade. She said that during that time she watched Compass “invest in the industry and in real estate professionals,” which is one of the main reasons she came on board.
Before her three years at Fathom, Forsythe was the COO of HomeSmart International. She has also held leadership roles at Carrington Real Estate Services and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate. In 2017, she had a short stint as president of Swanepoel’s T3 Broker division and was included on the 2023 Swanepoel Power
200 list, a ranking of influential residential real estate executives.
Forsythe said that in a “challenging market,” buyers and agents “need the expertise we provide” as the number one brokerage in “most of the key California and Hawaii markets.”
Forsythe will remain based out of Southern California, where she is a competitive ultramarathoner, but will work closely with Compass’ new Northern California head Kevin Patsel.
