TRP Investment acquires event center in Irvine for $11M

TRP Investment Group has bought a 28,000-square-foot event center in Irvine for $10.6 million to serve as the new headquarters for its Tax Resolution Plus service.

The Santa Ana-based investor bought the two-story OC Plaza building at 2575 McCabe Way, the Orange County Business Journal reported. The seller was undisclosed.

The deal works out to $379 per square foot.

Tax Resolution Plus, which shares executives with TRP and operates out of the same Santa Ana office according to state business records, will relocate to the Irvine building. It provides tax consultation, audit and representation services for individuals and companies.

The black-and-white OC Plaza, built in 1980, has a vaulted glass lobby and granite atrium, according to Loopnet. It’s used for wedding parties and celebrations, according to its website.

TRP plans to revamp the second floor into an office, while keeping the ground floor for events.

Brokers Shala Tavakoli, Kamyar Saket and Michael Darwich of Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices California Properties represented the buyer. Steve Abraham of Property Group International represented the unidentified seller.

In the same industry, Santa Ana-based Optima Tax Relief last month inked a 40-month lease for 38,000 square feet of offices at a newly purchased office campus in Santa Ana.
