Matt Damon picks up luxury condo in West Hollywood for $8.6M 

Matt Damon has picked up a luxury condominium in West Hollywood for $8.6 million.

The star in “Oppenheimer,” “Ford v Ferrari” and “Saving Private Ryan” bought the 2,900-square-foot condo at the luxurious 8899 Beverly building at 8899 Beverly Boulevard, according to the Robb Report.

Damon will be perched in the fourth floor pied-a-terre after a purchase that works out to $3,069 per square foot. The seller of the new unit was owner Townscape Partners, based in the building.

First offered last summer at nearly $9 million, the two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit has walls of glass and north-facing views of the Hollywood Hills.

Its 1,600-square-foot outdoor terrace is among “the grandest and most expansive outdoor spaces available in the building,” according to the listing.

Bespoke touches include a handmade leather door handle leading to the gourmet kitchen. The master bedroom suite, with unobstructed views, includes dual walk-in closets and a lavish bathroom.

The 10-story luxury complex with green-tinted windows, redesigned by Olson Kundig, reopened in April 2022 as the tallest building in West Hollywood. 

The building, built in 1964 and revamped by Townscape, includes 40 condos that start at $5 million, according to Robb, plus eight townhouses.

Its two penthouses were offered as a $100 million package, and were still on the market early last year. The 8899 Beverly development also houses 15 affordable housing units on its first floor, where rental fees are capped by market rates.

Damon will fork out nearly $5,000 per month in HOA fees to pay for such services as a 24-hour concierge, valet, bellhop and doorman, fitness center and yoga studio, a private garage for two cars, a 12,000-square-foot deck with a 36-foot pool and spa, and a dog park.

The building is home to a new Stella West Hollywood restaurant, featuring Italian fare.

Damon and his wife, Luciana Bozán, previously owned a tropical-themed mansion in Pacific Palisades they bought in 2012 for $15 million and sold in 2021 for $18 million.

For the last several years, the Damon family has primarily resided in New York, where they split their time between a $16 million townhouse in New York City’s Brooklyn Heights and an $8 million getaway in upstate Bedford Hills, according to Robb.
