Move over Botox med spa, a life longevity spa is here.
Hotelier and restaurant mogul Sam Nazarian’s SBE Entertainment has leased 13,000 square feet at the Reuben Brothers’ Century Plaza development in Century City to open a medical and wellness facility, the firms announced on Wednesday.
With the deal, Nazarian will be taking up nearly 15 percent of the ground-floor retail space available at Century Plaza, which consists of the 726-key Fairmont hotel and attached condo tower.
Fountain Life, a company focused on finding ways to extend lifespans, through medical diagnoses and prevention efforts, will operate the facility.
The Reuben Brothers’ investment vehicle, run by U.K.-based investors David and Simon Reuben, acquired the property through a $1 billion foreclosure last year, about half of what it cost to build the project.
The original developer, Michael Rosenfeld of Next Century Partners, was left with 197 condos at the property, which are being marketed for sale.
In December, the Reuben Brothers signed three high-end restaurants to the development: Miami hotspot Kyu, New York sushi hotspot Sushi Noz and Estiatorio Milos, the sprawling Greek restaurant at The Venetian in Las Vegas. All three are set to open late this year.
Estiatorio Milos will occupy 13,000 square feet at the property. Kyu will take 5,700 square feet and Noz will have a 2,500-square-foot location.
