A serial entrepreneur in the industries of design, events and media paid $23 million for a Bel-Air mansion touting privacy and country club views.
Records show Jonathan Gray bought the home at 657 Perugia Way from a trust tied to Palmer Murray, chair of financial services firm LourdMurray.
The home was cited earlier this month in a report for the week ended June 16 as Los Angeles County’s top home under contract. The weekly report released by The Eklund-Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman counts signed contracts of residential properties listed for $4 million or more.
Gray’s business background is diverse. Strategic advisory firm First Idea International, design services provider Intelligent Design Agency, media company The Hideaway Entertainment, high-end residential rental and sale company Beauchamp Estates France and event planner JG Events are among the companies he’s founded.
David Parnes and James Harris of Carolwood Estates were the listing agents. Carolwood’s Alexis Perry and The Beverly Hills Estates’ Jack Harris represented the buyer.
The purchase price reflects about an 18 percent reduction from last year, when the property hit the market for just under $28 million, according to Zillow.
The Perugia Way home totals 8,434 square feet and sits on over half an acre. Views look out onto the Bel-Air Country Club.
The 1930s home counts seven bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Inside, there’s a library, bar, spa, gym and chef’s kitchen. The exterior touts lounge areas, a dining deck and a pool.
