A proposed affordable housing project in Boyle Heights got a financial boost from the county. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors approved more than $5.9 million in funding for A Community of Friends’ proposed Estrella Azul development at 2201 East First Street, Urbanize Los Angeles reported. The nearly $6 million injection of No Place Like Home Program funds will contribute to the construction of the multifamily property next to Las Palomas Hotel.
