Twin multifamily projects in Koreatown could move forward after a review by the Los Angeles City Planning Commission next week.
CGI Strategies wants to build two architecturally similar seven-story projects totaling 173 units that would sit back-to-back on lots between Fedora Street and Mariposa Avenue, according to Urbanize. The Marioposa Avenue building would have 98 units, with 12 set aside for “Very Low Income” renters and the smaller building on Fedora Street would have the other 75 units with seven set aside for the same affordable bracket.
Planning documents show that both projects would include a gym and a roof deck, along with one vehicle parking spot and one bicycle parking spot per unit. As currently proposed, the projects would together total around 167,000 square feet.
A half-dozen existing multifamily buildings and parking lots would be demolished to make way for CGI’s buildings.
CGI is working on one other multifamily project in the area — a 121-unit project further north at 255 South Mariposa Avenue that the firm expects to complete early next year. [Urbanize] – Dennis Lynch
