Movers & Shakers: Colliers team heads to NAI Capital, Downtown legal vet joins new firm, and more

(Credit: Picryl)

A trio of Colliers International brokers have jumped ship to join NAI Capital. Gian Starita, Ken Ward, and Lucy Hartford are specialists in capital markets and tenant representation in the San Fernando Valley. Starita, the team leader, will be an executive vice president at NAI Capital. Ward joins as a vice president, while Hartford will be a senior associate.

Downtown Los Angeles real estate legal vet John Whitaker is joining Cox, Castle, & Nicholson LLP following 14 years at DLA Piper LLP. Cox has worked on Downtown projects with Greenland USA, the Ratkovich Company, Related Group, and Brookfield, among other high-profile developers. He’s also worked on task forces put together by the City of Los Angeles and various policy groups.

Industrial specialist John Morris will depart Cushman & Wakefield to take a position as Americas Industrial and Logistics Leader at CBRE. Morris won’t officially make the move for another 12 months, “after certain employment restrictions have expired,” according to a CBRE release. Morris held a similar position at Cushman & Wakefield, as well as working on retail. He also helped integrate logistics projects into the services they offered to retail clients.
