Movers & Shakers: JLL hires tenant rep specialist, CBRE brings in new valuation leader

William J. Drewes, Andrew Ouvrier, and Kevin Bender

A handful of Los Angeles commercial real estate veterans have jumped ship, lured away by rival firms.

Jones Lang LaSalle hired veteran tenant specialist Kevin Bender away from CBRE, making him managing director and market lead for its Integrated Portfolio Services group covering the Southwestern U.S. The JLL group manages clients’ real estate portfolios across multiple leases. Bender will work out of JLL’s Downtown L.A. office. Bender was executive vice president at CBRE for the majority of his 24-year commercial real estate career. He’s been involved in lease deals totaling 5 million square feet of office space, according to JLL.

CBRE, meanwhile, brought in Bill Drewes as managing director of its L.A. Valuation and Advisory Services team. Drewes comes to CBRE from Colliers International, where he was valuation services director for a decade and opened the firm’s L.A. valuation office. In L.A., Drewes has appraised the 900,000-square-foot Beaudry Center and the historic Sears warehouse in Boyle Heights, which Izek Shomof is redeveloping https://therealdeal.com/la/2018/11/29/shomof-group-shops-stake-in-25-acre-sears-redevelopment-project/.

Office and retail real estate lawyer Andrew Ouvrier left Pircher, Nichols & Meeks for Cox, Castle & Nicholson LLP. Ouvrier joined the firm’s retail group as a partner and will work out of its Century City office.

Ouvrier was a partner at Pircher for six years, where he represented tenants and landlords both in southern California and elsewhere in the U.S., including the tech hubs of Seattle and San Francisco. Hi current stable of landlord clients have about 10 million square feet under their belts,  Cox, Castle & Nicholson said.
