Fresh off IPO, Uber exec Garrett Camp drops $71M on Beverly Hills mansion

Garrett Camp is single-handedly debunking any rumblings of a summer slowdown.

The Uber co-founder and chairman spent $71 million to acquire a newly built mansion in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles Times reported. He spent another $9.5 million on a home in the Hollywood Hills less than a month ago.

Located in the tony Trousdale Estates, the property spans about 12,100 square feet and includes a guesthouse. There are seven bedrooms in the main house.

Details about the property remain scant, as the deal was done off-market.

Before the most recent house was built, the property held a 10,000-square-foot home. It last traded hands for $13.7 million in 2014.

Camp and his wife Eliza Nguyen recently expanded their spread in the Hollywood Hills, too. They paid $9.5 million to acquire a 6,280-square-foot home, located three doors down from another property they own.

His recent splurges come on the heels of Uber’s IPO. Despite a largely disappointing debut last month, the ride-sharing giant finally saw its stock trade above its initial offering price Thursday.

The deal ranks among the most expensive this year. [LAT] — Natalie Hoberman
