Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and actress Portia de Rossi are the buyers of a Beverly Hills mansion with a notable pedigree.
DeGeneres and de Rossi paid $15 million for the 5,100-square-foot estate of late actress Marjorie Lord, according to the Los Angeles Times. The 1962 home was built in the Hollywood Regency style, a distinct opulent architectural and interior style popular from the 1930s through the 1960s.
DeGeneres, and de Rossi are frequent home flippers. The sale follows the couple’s July sale of a Montecito estate for $34 million.
The home went on sale after Lord’s death in 2015 and sold a year later for $8.3 million. To renovate the 56-year-old home, the new owners hired architecture firm Marmol Radziner, which DeGeneres and de Rossi have tapped themselves in the past. Marmol Radziner renovated a Hollywood Hills manse the couple sold in 2016.
Each of the five bedrooms in the home have private courtyards. The home includes a covered patio, built-in barbeque, pool and spa, according to the Times. Marmol Radziner re-designed the kitchen as well. [LAT] – Dennis Lynch
